More and more celebs are calling the Big Apple home.

by Christopher Balderas Aug 23, 2018.

Everyone knows that Hollywood is the land of the stars. It’s where movies are made and where the rich and famous choose to live. The accessibility of being able to live in Tinseltown and be able to work in their very own backyard has made Los Angeles a destination for celebrities. Many of them have taken residence in the most wealthy and famed neighborhoods including Bel Air and Beverly Hills, but over the years, there’s been a shift to the East coast.

Because many directors and producers have chosen to shoot on location rather than using green screens over the last few years, a lot of the movie industry has seen a shift in where they choose to film. So many of our movies, both blockbuster hits and small independent films, are set in New York City. It serves as the backdrop to so much of cinema and has brought with it much of the movie industry’s personnel. This has propelled the number of famous celebs living in and visiting the Big Apple. In fact, it has become fairly normal to spot any number of A-listers strolling around the city after filming a scene or playing a concert. Sometimes it’s just a celeb on their way to the grocery store as more and more are calling NYC home. Here are twenty places in New York where we are most likely to spot a famous person.

19 East Village.

The East Village, not nearly as popular as some of the neighborhoods with a similar sounding name like Greenwich Village and the West Village, is still a great neighborhood within Manhattan’s east side. Facing the East River and flanked by Lower and Midtown Manhattan, the East Village is a calmer part of the city with a lot of residential homes occupied by the city’s wealthy.

If you’re strolling this part of the city, you might run into some of the folks who call it their home including Britney Spears, Amanda Seyfried and Russell Simmons .

18 Gramercy Park.

Long considered one of the most exclusives areas in all of New York City, Gramercy Park is quite literally only for the wealthy elite . Residents who reside in the towers surrounding the park are given a key with strict access. With such limited access to green space that has been sought after by many for decades, expect the tenants of this neighborhood to be part of the city’s wealthiest.

If you happen to be walking by the park, try to peer in and you might catch a glimpse of a familiar famous face. Celebs like Jay Baruchel and Jim Parsons call Gramercy their home.

17 The Polo Bar.
